Move exactly one of the matchsticks (gray rectangles) to make the Roman numeral equation correct. Remember than Roman numeral values are I = 1, V = 5, X = 10, L = 50, C = 100, and M =1,000). Moving the right side of the "V" over the left side of the "V" forms an "X". That makes the equation 1,000 / 10 = 100.
Bonus Challenge Number 1:
Starting with the original puzzle layout, move exactly two of the matchsticks to make the Roman numeral equation correct - BUT don't move the "V" matchsticks this time. Moving the upper and lower "legs" of the "C" vertically around the "V" forms an "M". That makes the equation 1,000 / 1,000 = 1.
Bonus Challenge Number 2:
Starting with the original puzzle layout, move exactly one of the matchsticks and add a new matchstick to make the Roman numeral equation correct - BUT don't move the "V" matchsticks this time. Moving the top "leg" of the "C" over the left side of the "V" - AND placing the new matchstick across the right side of the "V" forms a "XX". That makes the equation 1,000 / 20 = 50.
Congratulations if you had other valid answers that we missed.
