Change a Dollar Puzzle

Genre: Math Puzzle Rating: 2 - Easy Source: Unknown
Brain Functions: Rational, Exact Calculations Hint    Solution

What is the largest sum of money you could have in coins and still not be able to make change for a dollar?

Assume that we are referring to a U.S. Dollar and that the only possible coins are: Cent worth .01 dollars
Nickel worth .05 dollars
Dime worth .10 dollars
Quarter worth .25 dollars

Obviously if we consider dollar coins, our answer would only be limited by how many dollars we could gather.
